World Book Day 2017

“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.”

That was exactly what we aimed for our World Book Day 2017 which took place on Thursday, March 16, 2017. It was designed to show the students how interesting, fascinating and indulging books can really be. This day was also intended to inform students that some of their favorite characters from movies were actually taken from books and then turned into animated movies.

Every class was assigned with different stories and students got to discover all aspects of those stories throughout the day. The high school students were allotted a class and they activated the assigned stories with fun and interesting activities.  They read the stories to lower grades while read parts the books to upper grades. They discussed the plot, acted out scenes ,and played games which gave all the students a chance to connect with each other and thoroughly enjoy the day. Each of the game was chosen specifically for a type of learning. Musical chairs as kinesthetic type and pin the tail as visual and tactile type of learning. This helped the students interrelate fun with books while also learning important lifelong lessons.

The most thrilling part of the day was when students and teachers were transformed into characters of different books. We had some all time classics like Robin Hood, Snow White, Pinocchio, and the list goes on. We also saw magnificent  modern book characters.

This event didn’t only celebrate reading books but also gave all a chance to rejoice characters and bring them to our school.
